The Davenport Museum of Art not only showcases up-and-coming contemporary artists, but also holds a collection of works that capture the ever changing essence of art from the 15th century to the present. The core of the collection was the original 334 pieces donated by Charles August Ficke to the city of Davenport--pieces that ranged from Hudson River School artist Asher B. Durand to one of the first collections of Haitian art in the United States. The museum is located on the grounds of the Fererjary Children's Park, just west of the city center.
